a happy hockey place
Mar. 1st, 2011 06:39 pminternet, can we talk about last night's hockey game again? because I'm still not convinced that it wasn't a hallucination. and i'm not even talking about the part where the hawks gave up goals in the third but held their shit together to win. no, i'm talking about the commentary.
and i'm used to listening to pat and eddie, so when i say the commentary was out there, i mean out there.
Some "highlights":
-the general MN homerism, especially as centered on the person of Marty Havlat, who is "silent but deadly"
-the obsession with the Toews line/Madden line match up, and how being former teammates might affect that. which, okay, i can see, but they KEPT TALKING ABOUT IT and also claimed that that gave them "intimate knowledge" of each other. No, really, that happened. (also, i would not read it.)
-i was concerned by the Madden/Toews shipping, until they called Kane and Toews married twice in quick succession. no, literally.
( cut for video, and also for length as i talk about how great BHTV is )
