Mar. 11th, 2011 09:19 pmThe Blackhawks visited the White House today, for reasons that I frankly find a little confusing*, but basically I enjoy all occasions where hockey players dress up and then have many pictures taken of them, because is there ever a time when that does not end in ridiculousness?
*I mean, they won the Cup what, 9 months ago? And now half the team is different, and only like a quarter of them were Americans in the first place.
This is an interesting challenge, because in suits they are not helpfully labeled like they are on the ice, and between last year's players, this year's players, and the dudes who count as part of the team who aren't players, I'm pretty sure I'm going to misidentify at least several folks. ( But onwards! )
also, is it just me, or is it a strange strange night of scoreboard watching? i can't decide which or more unlikely: the oilers killed like 90secs of a Detroit 5on3, or that a line on the scoresheet of the Avs-Ducks game reads "Ryan O'Reilly 7 (Ryan Wilson, Ryan O'Byrne)". And then Dallas scored 3 goals in a minute and a half.
