Dear fellow students in my anthropology class: I am hereby banning the following terms: 'gays'. 'females'. 'males'. 'transgenders'. you can keep 'lesbians' for now, but i reserve the right to revoke that privilege. People are not adjectives. People are nouns.

Dear interpreters in my anthropology class: you continue to be awesome. carry on. (I continue to add to my list of totally-useless-in-everyday-life asl vocabulary. recent words i've learned include 'stigma', 'categorize', 'soldier', and 'Nazi'.)

Dear history professor the first: sure, there's nothing wrong with your test, but don't you think "here are 50 terms, of which i will give you five and you will identify in one paragraph each, and there will be five excerpts from the readings, which you will identify and give the significance of in two paragraphs each" is perhaps a sign you need to take some deep breaths and go with the flow a bit?

Dear history professor the second: showing up to class the day before a test and saying, "so, what are some questions you think i should put on the exam?", taking a list of suggestions and saying "yeah, these look like good questions", and promising that every question you ask will have two or three options to chose from? i think i love you. never change.
