1. The first of the big post-season fencing meets is tomorrow. (Usually we do three post-season meets, but this year we're only doing two.) Ironically, we haven't finished the 'season' meets yet. There's one on Wednesday. Wednesday. This is because someone hates me. The meet tomorrow is at MoHo, which means the bus leaves at 530 am, which means I have to go to bed early. (And there's a party on my floor tonight! And the bigass speakers are maybe 40 feet from my room!) I'd plan on sleeping on the bus, but that won't be sufficient because, for some reason, Women's Sabre is going to fence in the afternoon, so I need enough sleep to be sharp (ha) all day, so the usual 'sleep 2 hours, get on the bus, sleep two hours, warmup, fence for 3 hours, spend the rest of the day in a sleep deprived haze' isn't going to cut it. I hate fencing in the afternoon - your start time keeps getting pushed, so you never know when to start warming up, and the strips are full so you can't bout during warmup, and you have to figure out how to eat or nap to be at your best after 4 or 5 hours of sitting around. I so much prefer to blow through the bouting first thing in the morning, then spend the rest of the day napping and eating, like, donuts and pizza.

We'll get back way way late on Sunday, and then I have a paper due at 930 on Monday! Also, Monday's my birthday! Woo-fucking-hoo.

2. For my Technology in History class, we had to read a section from Clan of the Cave Bear - not, like, as actual history, but as a 'how someone imagines the past' sort of deal. In class, the professor asked us what we thought about it, and this guy and girl who sit in front and are I think a couple chimed in with, "we loved it! we're going to get a hold of the book and read the rest of it this weekend!' I managed to be diplomatic enough to go with "I think it's an interesting attempt, and I can see why we read it, but I have absolutely zero desire to read more" rather than "are you fucking serious".

3. In more 'questionable choices in art' news, my sci-fi class watched Blade Runner. Is there anything redeemable at all about that movie? I think not. It did make me happy when one of my classmates referred to the sex scene in the middle as rape, though. Oh, the joys of being in a class full of blue-haired anti-authoritarians who have no interest in being nice.

4. I have lots of opinions (some unpopular) about men's ice skating but absolutely zero knowledge! )

And now back to reading figure skating RPF instead of writing my paper!
