Aug. 19th, 2008 08:57 pmAbout the post from earlier, eventually I stopped breaking things and life got better. (I still stayed away from the compact shelving, though - I didn't need to risk that.) Also, I got to work on a task that let me go hang out in the stacks and an empty part of the office.
I have my window open over looking the courtyard, which means that I get the delightful sounds of rock music and power tools. (That is not a sarcastic 'delightful'.) This is the best time of year around here, and at some point I will figure out what they are doing with the pile of lumber. Currently there appears to be a skeleton for a 20 or 30 foot tower, but I'm not sure what they're doing with it yet. Also, there is a dude practicing poi in the lounge. (Practice poi - our attitude towards flame may be casual, but it's not that casual.)
I think the dash is currently my favorite piece of punctuation. (Unless I'm thinking of the hyphen, but I'm pretty sure it's the dash. Not sure about the em vs en distinction, though.) I'm not saying that parentheses have lost their special place in my heart though - I will always love the parens.
