Aug. 16th, 2008 03:25 am1. I'm watching the West Wing (only 9 years late!) and I know, giant of American television and all, and I am enjoying it, but at the same time, it's like "Sorkin, I do not need to see that much of your naked id all at once."
1a. This show makes my ex D's reaction to 10 Things I Hate About You so much more understandable (to be his precise, it makes his squeal when Allison Janney appeared understandable). (Part of the reason we broke up is because I gave up on ever understanding him. Nothing that D did could strictly be surprising or out of character, because I was used to all sorts of weird things that he did, totally without any sort of pattern. Which makes him sound creepy, but he was really quite sweet. Also, hot.)
2. The drunken singing outside my window went from "Knights of Cydonia" to what could be called the school fight song, if it were not a drinking song. Looking up the lyrics and discovering youtube video, I was struck by a weird mix of nostalgia and homesickness (weird because I, you know, still live here and attend this school). When you combine this with the homesickness type thing I got when watching ANTM last night when they went to Rome (a city I spent 5 days in, 5 years ago), I suspect it would be highly unwise to watch any of the coverage of the Republican National Convention.
3. Speaking of which, does hormonal birth control that is of the fixed dose kind (ie, the drug mix does not change over the course of the month - whatever it's officially called (ETA: monophasic)) still allow for PMS? Because I'd love to have something to blame this on.
