(no subject)

So, I have a tendency to do somewhat ill-advised things during finals week or the run up to it. Or, not necessarily ill-advised, just things I would normally think twice about. First term, it was totally nocturnal sleep patterns. Second term, it was bandom. Third term it was...actually, I don't know. Probably most of the bandom delurking. This term? I put up a profile on an internet dating site. (No, it's totally justifiable, I swear. See, if I meet someone cool, then it was totally worth it. If I don't, then it's just time wasted on the internet, and it's not like I don't do plenty of that already.) (Actually, I am already getting something out of it - people keep sending me movie recommendations.)

So, in the profile, they ask you to list movies, music, and books that you like. This is where the majority of the lulz come in. Aside from the previous mentioned movie recs, I get dudes asking me what I mean by 'fantasy that subverts genre tropes,' in which case I point them to A Companion to Wolves, and, yes, I am using a novel with gay gangbangs and telepathic bonding with wolves as a screening mechanism. For music, I describe my taste as 'pop punk and emo rock,' leading one guy to ask me if I liked Panic! at the Disco [sic]. I did not respond 'OMG YES LET ME TELL YOU ALL ABOUT THEIR ADORABLE FACES.' But I thought about it. You should admire my restraint.

I just found out where I'll be living next year (I knew I'd be on the same floor, but I didn't know which room). Turns out my cunning plan succeeded, and I'll be in the same room as I am now, but without a roommate. Same amount of space, half as much stuff (including half as much standard issue furniture)! This means I'll have the space for, like, a futon! Or maybe even a rug! And I can arrange and decorate the room any way I want!

Oh man, so many options. I may need to make charts. Or floorplans, to test sample furniture arrangements. Now, what did I do with all my graph paper?
