Feb. 15th, 2008 01:46 pmHello flist! How are all of you today?
I myself am doing pretty good. I got roses yesterday, which was kind of cool, and now they are in a glass on the sink being all decorative. (Okay, I didn't get roses - roses were given to a couple of different groups that I fall into.) Some of them were left outside my door yesterday morning, and in the grand tradition of college students, I opened the door, saw the roses, and said, "Fuck, it's too early to deal with this. I'm going to class. These can stay in the hallway til I get back." (My roommate, on the other hand, saw that I had found a glass of water for the roses and said, "Oh, good, I'm glad you figured out what to do with them, because I didn't know.)
Also, I have a job! Er, sort of, in that I really do have it, but I'm not sure it counts as a real job. I'm grading homework for a first year class in my major, so the weeks that they have homework, which is most weeks, I should make about 60 dollars. Semi-disposable income is good, especially with the concerts I'm planning on this spring.
Between the job, the tax forms I had to fill out for the job, and the fact that I turn 20 in a week, I'm beginning to feel like a Real Live Grown Up. Not on, world, not on.
I have a terrible fear that the eventual MCR Boston date is going to conflict with either my finals or with the week(s) in May/June that I'm going home for my brother's graduation. Hey, MCR, make it to Boston before the 20th of May, okay?
I feel like I should have thoughts on VickyT commenting on fanfic, but I'm still horrimused (props to whoever coined that). At this point, I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time til they start writing their own. (One could argue that every Cobra video ever, along with all of Pete's Q&A, and so forth and so on, count as fanfic, but I mean the LJ-based fandom as we know it.) Is it still fanfic if you're writing about yourself and your band?
