(no subject)

why is it that the overlap of 'people i know', 'people who care about the tour de france' and 'people who care about twitter' consists of solely me? my mother fits the first two, so i can send her all of my long emails full of my tinhatty* beliefs about lance and she sends me updates about the giro and the vuelta and tells me what i've missed by not watching it on tv. but half the tour is twittering now, and twitter sort of eludes my mother, which leaves me with the question of who, exactly, i should tell about the twitters about zabriskie and bsg, or important questions like 'twittering drunk or esl?, or 'is that really quick step's twitter, and if so, wtf?'

i wonder if it has something to do with being in a rpf fandom and getting used to canon happening more directly? or even being used to being in a hypertext environment like fandom where fanstuff is changing and happening all the time.

*by which i mean, tinhatty beliefs about his chances to win and how he is clean, dammit, clean. not the other kind.

eta: apparently lance owns a bike shop in Austin called Mellow Johnny's. It has a coffee shop inside called Juan Pelota. brb, dying of laughter.
