I sat down the other day and said, "self, you've been kicking around this origfic idea for six months. put it down on paper already," and so I did, which has been going well so far (slow, but consistent progress), but apparently I get a certain amount of words a day, and if they go towards fiction I disappear off all other forms of communication (oops). Which is, to say the least, annoying.

Other things I have done that I was going to post about but never made happen:
1. Went to [livejournal.com profile] janet_carter's, where the stated intent was to inflict Twilight on those of us who had not seen it. I think we made it through vampire baseball before getting distracted. Met a number of lovely people, who were considerate enough to make sure I was from the internet before inflicting scarring images.
2. Entered an essay in the History dept's contest. Granted, it was "i wrote an essay last term that fits those requirements!", but i still managed to get me, it, and then entry form to the history office before the deadline.
3. Got a bunch of GRE stuff; made plans to study. I'm hoping this turns out to be "take practice test; decide further studying is unnecessary" rather that "study", but we'll see.
4. Read a comic book! This is a larger achievement than it sounds, given my tendency to wander away from comic books in the middle due to format incompatibilities. But I got all the way through Bruce Wayne: Murderer? and am waiting for Bruce Wayne: Fugitive to come in. This is a new experience! (Assuming I manage to keep doing the comics thing, what Batman trades should I read next?
5. Watched a whole lot of Entourage. It's such good writing TV because it's sitcom-y and requires very little commitment. (I do worry about what effects Ari is having on my dialog, though.) (Other recs for writing TV?)
