Fact: When going from pile of quotes to essay, I usually stay at about the same number of total words.
Fact: One page is 250-300 words double spaced.
Fact: I have a 10-12 page paper due later this week.
Fact: The quote-dump document is 8000 words.
Conclusion: I am so so screwed.
ETA: I realize, that as a junior in college, many of my professors do not feel a need to provide exact instruction on citations. And that is perfectly reasonable! But it sure makes things confusing when you are trying how to remember how to cite as a mathematician, a linguist, an economic historian, and a classicist in the same week.
