3 down, 1.5 to go
Nov. 12th, 2008 12:11 pmGave lecture in the seminar class again today. Once again, did not cry, faint, vomit, or die. Even better: for the first 80% of class, everything went fine - not perfect, but when the prof asked leading questions I managed to get back on track, and my classmates seemed perfectly willing to accept the most hand-wavy proof (that any discrete subgroup in R^n forms a lattice), even if the prof wanted more details. Then it got to the last 20% and things fell massively apart, but hey, at least my jeans looked good (and made my ass look fantastic, btw.)
I think the real purpose of this class, rather than to teach you any significant quantity of mathematics, is to burn out your adrenal system. I know that I am rapidly losing my antipathy towards looking clueless in public.
