Something that I find deeply disconcerting about daylight savings time (or the end of it, or whichever of the two we happen to currently to be on) is that when I am up til what I think of as 'late but not crazy late'* it begins to get light outside. (Then I remind myself that this means that it's light out when I have to get up early, which is good because I hate waking up when it's still dark out.**)
*For a weekend - I don't have class til Wednesday, although I do have work and fencing (but those are afternoon things).
**My high school started at 8am, as high schools tend to do, which meant we had to be out the door by 7:30 or so. My high school was almost directly east of where we lived, and the trip there involved crossing a freeway - think open space - with the land lower in front than behind. Taken altogether, this means I saw the sunrise more or less every day between fall and spring for four years. The charm wears off quickly.
