I was hanging out in the kitchen, making dinner and chatting with the friend I lent a bunch of books to last week. He's read 2.5 of the 5 so far, and thought that Extras was a fun read but nothing special, Swordspoint was awesome, and Havemercy has a slow beginning. (So far, all true.)

He then saw fit to loudly inform all five or so of us in the kitchen (including ICB) that Swordspoint is full of gay sex. I may have suppressed laughter into my sandwich. I also resisted such responses as "No, it really isn't," or "You ain't seen nothin' yet." (Lending him A Companion to Wolves: good idea/bad idea/do it for the lols?)

Also, the books I lent him that he hasn't read yet include the rest of Havemercy and also Tithe. Whoops?

Dear Admissions Office,

I'm sure you're all lovely, intelligent people who are good at your jobs. However, we should have a little talk about the definitions of 'straight line' and 'right angle', because you apparently would not know them if they bit you on your collective ass.

No love,
one of the people who had to trim and square up the 6000 or so cards* we're scanning for you.

*This is not an exaggeration. 1 info card per student admitted in the past 5 years is a lot of cards.
