Torchwood babbling, no real spoilers, I think )

Possibly Unpopular Fandom Opinion! I have seen posts gently mocking Ryan Ross for rhyming 'moon' and 'afternoon.' BUT! The way I say them, they totally rhyme. (I grew up in Minnesota, which means all of my vowels, and especially the various 'o' vowels are a little bit to the left of standard American English pronounciation. If you've seen Miracle, the movie about the 1980 US Olympic hockey team? The coach's accent in that film is an exaggerated version of the Minnesotan accent. I haven't seen Fargo, so I can't tell you if the accents there are accurate. Also, Fargo is in North Dakota.) Although, as far as I know, Ryan Ross doesn't have this excuse of a Minnesotan (or Canadian) accent, so continue on with the mocking. ETA: Okay, fine. Consensus so far is that they do rhyme, and I suspect that I have probably been misreading thing. Move along, nothing to see here.

Fun with Facebook )

In unrelated news, I was unaware that I was eligible for any kind of adoption, but I'd be willing to hear terms.

Finally, if you don't regularly read [livejournal.com profile] news, you should probably go check it out. In short: they're introducing a new feature which I think many fannish types may want to opt-out on.
