uggghh

I spent 5 hours in New Employee Orientation today (and again tomorrow), this week is going to be cold again, and I am super stressed out over things related to heating cost and roommates and landlords. (Also, my roommates are utterly convinced that the city will shovel/plow sidewalks - after all, they're city property!) Which is to say, holiday love meme?

eta: buttons back on winter coat, solving cold problem. landlord admits that heating oil usage way out of normal, and is looking into reasons, doing a lot towards stress/roommates/landlord/cost issues. now if only the hawks would get their shit together, i would count this evening a win.

LOLOLOL I see they have not seen the [livejournal.com profile] davis_square posts about getting tickets from the city for uncleared sidewalks. (Although it is the landlord's responsibility, not the tenants', unless your lease specifies otherwise.)

I hope your week gets warmer and less stressful!

it does: snowfalls under 3 inches are our problem. (over three? who knows!) but my roommates are like, "oh, that's just the walk up to the house, not the sidewalks!" i was like, "um, have any of you ever lived in a city before?"

For real, punch your roommates in the dick if they can't be convinced to clean the sidewalk. It is a nightmare to try and walk kids from school to our center on unshoveled sidewalks, especially a couple of days later, when the snow has frozen and melted and frozen again. SAFETY HAZARD!

will do! i walk a half mile to the T, so I understand the importance of clear sidewalks. (it's stil 40 degrees here, but we were talking 'weird shit in our lease' so it came up.)

i heartily endorse this comment.

i had three really bad, if i could ever be bothered to get x-rays done they would probably show actual damage falls in all the winters i spent in boston. (any number of skinned knees and barked shins and the like, but three where i lay there for a while and seriously contemplated ambulances.) one of them was because someone had decided that a hose hooked up to the hot tap was a great substitute for salting (uhh... no, it's not, it's just black ice on the sidewalk in front of the next building down the hill), and the other two because homeowners had decided that all their special snowflake selves needed to shovel was the exact driveway width needed for their cars.
