life update
pro: went on a couple of fun dates with dudes off okcupid; have plans to do so again.
con: it is 95 degrees and I am melting.

pro: i have the best mother in the world.
pro: Fringe! I just started watching the first season, and I have to not-watch the cold opens when people gruesomely die, but so far I am enjoying it.
ETA: I recently discovered that there's a new-ish Connie Willis book, another Oxford time travel one, called Blackout. I have it on hold at the library, but has anyone here read it? Can you give me a sense of where it falls on the Doomsday Book to To Say Nothing of the Dog spectrum? Because, frankly, I don't think I can deal with another book like the Doomsday Book.
